The Tualatin Hills Nature Park is a 222-acre wildlife preserve in the heart of Beaverton, Oregon. It features evergreen and deciduous forests, creeks, wetlands, ponds, and meadows. The park is home to a variety of birds, mammals, and smaller creatures. About 1.5 miles of trails are paved, while the remaining 3.5 miles are well maintained, soft-surface trails. The Interpretive Center, Oak Trail and sections of the Vine Maple Trail are accessible to the disabled. For visually impaired visitors, we have an audiocassette tour available. We also have a wheelchair that can be checked out for no charge.
Highlights of the Interpretive Center include a reference library, classrooms, nature store, and exhibit area. The center offers a variety of outdoor recreation and environmental education classes for adults, children, and school groups, throughout the year.
Gifts and supplies for all ages are available at the Nature Store. You will find a wide selection of field guides, hiking books, and children's books. There are also shirts, stuffed animals, magnifying glasses, nature toys, birdhouses, feeders, and more.

Advisory Committee
The Tualatin Hills Nature Park Advisory Committee, composed of community volunteers, receives input from residents of the district and makes recommendations to THPRD staff regarding the operation of the Interpretive Center and Nature Park.
Committee members are Margaret Armstrong, Rod Coles, Kevin Hoover, Al Mowbray, Jim Olson, Karl Quade, Richard Hose, Deborah Winer and Gordon Hale.
 Getting to the Park
From Highway 217 or Tualatin Valley Highway.
Take Oregon 8/Canyon Rd/Tualatin Valley (TV) Highway about two miles west. SW Millikan Way is on the north side, between SW Murray and SW 170th. Go north on 160th, which becomes Millikan Way. The park is about one-half mile from the intersection on your left. If you pass a set of train tracks, you have gone too far.
From Highway 26 or Murray Boulevard
From Highway 26 (Sunset Highway), go south on Murray for about 1.5 miles. From Murray, go west on SW Millikan Way. The Interpretive Center is approximately 3/4 mile from the intersection. We are about 200 feet past the second set of railroad tracks on your right.
By Public Transit
We are easily reached via TriMet's Westside Light Rail. Get off at the Merlo Road/158th Station. Turn left, cross the tracks and make a left turn onto the asphalt path. This is the Oak Trail. It will lead you into the park and to the Interpretive Center (about three-quarters of a mile away). For other public transit directions, log on to www.trimet.org.
