STEWARDSHIP
The Park District promotes stewardship of natural areas by working closely with park neighbors, schools, civic groups, private/government agencies, and through partnerships with other organizations such as SOLV, Tualatin River Watershed Council, and many Friends groups. In addition, the Natural Resources Department provides opportunities for Girl and Boy Scouts to participate in community projects as part of their advancement process. Check out our Scout Projects page for a list of possible projects. These partnerships provide excellent opportunities for volunteers to work together to improve the community.
Natural Resources staff enjoy working with volunteers to improve the quality of our natural areas. We encourage you to become involved within one of the many community groups that help us with stream restoration and enhancement, park clean-up, native vegetation planting, invasive plant removal, and other stewardship activities in our area. For more information, please contact Melissa Marcum, Natural Resources volunteer coordinator, at 503/629-6305 x 2953 or mmarcum@thprd.org.
And remember to check the Environmental Volunteering calendar each month for new volunteer opportunities in your area!
