THPRD's Natural Resources employees care for a wide variety of habitats throughout the Park District, ranging from evergreen forests with towering Douglas Fir trees to sunny meadows filled with young Oregon white oaks. Staff also manage wetlands and stream corridors as well as areas inhabited by creatures such as beavers and red-legged frogs. Natural Resources employees do conservation planning, weed removal, extensive native plant installation projects, and other tasks. Volunteers often work side by side with staff and are essential to successful park stewardship.
