HOME OF THPRD'S FIRST AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM

KINDER CLUB PROGRAM

This program offers after-school care for kindergartners, Monday through Friday,
11 a.m to 6 p.m. Our goal is to provide a safe, enriching and fun environment for children where they experience stimulating and creative activities.

Our dedicated, experienced and well-trained staff offer aid in the development of math, reading and social skills. Children are introduced to fine arts, sports, games, music, drama, science, world cultures, computers, community service and fabulous field trips!

Kinder Club offers opportunities for children to focus on personal growth, self-confidence, creative exploration, and communication. The Kinder Club vans will transport students from Raleigh Park, Raleigh Hills, McKay and Vose elementary schools. Montclair students ride the bus to Garden Home and will be met by a staff member.

DISCOVERY CLUB (Grades 1-5)

Are you looking for a safe, enriching, and fun place for kids in grades 1-5? Join us Monday through Friday, 3-6 p.m. Our program develops the emotional, social, intellectual and physical needs of each child as he or she makes new friends and explores the world.

We offer cultural activities, games, community service, sports, art, dance, theater, music, science projects, fabulous field trips and more.

The Discovery Club vans will transport students from Raleigh Park, Raleigh Hills, McKay, and Vose elementary schools. Montclair students ride the bus to Garden Home and will be met by a staff member.

DISCO EXPERIENCE (Grades 6-8)

This program is for middle-school students who need a safe and positive place to go after school (3-6 p.m.). They will have time for homework, friends, art, theater, sports, fun field trips and more. Also available, is the opportunity to develop and build leadership and communication skills, nurture self-confidence, work in the after-school store and participate in community service projects.

A special part of the Disco Experience is our Mentor Leadership Program. Available to middle- schoolers at both Garden Home and McKay schools, this program's focus is to develop confidence, leadership and communication skills. Mentors have the opportunity to be positive role models, work closely with staff to plan and lead activities for the younger kids, as well as organize community service projects and field trips.

Students from Whitford can walk to McKay School or ride the bus to Garden Home Recreation Center.

Discovery Club After-School Program Moving Into Beaverton Schools
The Discovery Club After-School Program is taking its show on the road. The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District has teamed up with the Beaverton School District to offer this same winning, enrichment-based after-school program at any Beaverton elementary or middle school. We opened at McKay Elementary in the fall of 2007 and received high praise from their staff. We hope to be available in your school soon. Key details:

* Hours of operation are 3-6 p.m.
* Available to students in afternoon kindergarten through 5th grade.
* Raleigh Hills students are welcome; our vans will transport them to McKay School.
* Disco Middle School Program is available at McKay for interested Whitford students.
* Swimming available on Fridays.

Available at all levels of our programs is ourThis provides all of our kids, an opportunity to receive homework assistance, study tips, and one-on-one tutoring with volunteers. This is available during the school year.

All four programs offer parents a choice of three or five days a week. Affordable monthly tuition includes teacher in-service days, some early release days and holidays.
