Arts & Crafts Instructors Selene Robinowitz Selene has a BFA and a MFA in English and a certificate of Fine Arts in Painting. She is a fine arts painter and is a graduate of the Oregon College of Arts & Crafts with an emphasis on painting and clay. She is currently working part-time in her painting studio in northwest Portland, where she is working on a new body of abstract work. Selene is also a writer with experience in local television, public relations and children's books. She loves teaching children because they are so spontaneous, funny and open to new ideas. Ellen Harshman Ellen has worked in parks programs for 14 years with ages ranging from 9 months to 12 years of age. Her focus has been mainly preschool ages, but she also has a strong background in after-school programs. Ellen is excited to return to Conestoga as she brings creative classes for all!  Arts & Crafts Classes for Preschool Children Creative Babies Jump in and be a kid again! Touch, smell, listen and laugh together as parent and child cruise their way to easel painting, finger painting, balloon painting, water play, sensory discovery and much more. The focus will be on paint with an emphasis on tactile discovery. Babies will delight in bouncing, squeezing, swooshing and splashing in their newly discovered art world while crawling and toddling to friendly music in a baby friendly atmosphere. Bring a shirt or outfit for you and your child and be prepared to get a little messy!! Parent participation required. (Selene) Creating Together Explore the wonder of art through you senses! Parent and child will touch, smell, listen and see their way through a Kaleidoscope of arts and crafts mediums. Enjoy the delight of discovering you and your child's creativity through sensory play, lively music and new surprises each week. Class encourages expanded motor skills and personal confidence in a safe and kid friendly atmosphere. Bring a shirt / outfit for you and your child and be prepared to get a little messy!! Parent Participation Required. (Selene) Creative Art Explore painting, colloguing, beading, wire cutting and other mediums on your own. Discover the delight of creating with your hands and improving fine motor skills while enjoying a variety of new and fun art projects each week. Enjoy the freedom to explore your creativity and uniqueness as artists in a safe and kid friendly atmosphere. Bring a paint / shirt outfit for your child. (Selene) Messy Art Come & get messy in a class that explores multi-media & tactile mediums. Develops fine motor skills, creative expression & social skills. Parent Participation required. Bring a shirt/outfit for you and your child and be prepared to get a little messy. Make It and Take It Crafts Create one of a kind surprises for those you love. Discover hidden talents while making handmade holiday them gifts. Paint, cut, glue and more, for a fun filled Friday afternoon. (Ellen) Arts & Crafts Classes for the Youth Drawing & Painting, Youth Learn drawing and painting techniques with mixed media. Your child will experiment with materials such as paints, pastels, and found objects. This class is designed to explore a variety of art materials and to encourage individual imagination expressed through art. Supplies included. (Selene) Puppet Making Focus on felt, paper, and marionette puppets. Class will also include puppet physics. Arts & Crafts Classes for the Teens/ Adults Drawing & Painting, Teen Learn drawing and painting techniques with mixed media. You'll experiment with materials such as paints, pastels, and found objects. This class is designed to explore a variety of art materials and to encourage individual imagination expressed through art. Supplies included.
